Week #15: April 21st - April 25th

This week in class, we really brought home our learning and activity about Bomon from last week. We began the week with a brief history of Africa and a background on AIDS and then we moved on to learning about how everything plays into the situation at one time by watching the film "Hotel Rwanda." It was also short week due to ACT testing and Prom.

Week #15 Vocabulary:
UN: (United Nations) Countries committed to maintaining international peace and security, developing friendly relations among nations and promoting social progress, better living standards and human rights.
WTO: (World Trade Organization) Deals with the rules of trade between nations at a global or near-global level.
NATO: (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) Safeguards the freedom and security of its member nations by political and military means.
EU: (European Union) A unique economic and political partnership between 27 democratic European countries to provide peace, prosperity and freedom for its 498 million citizens.
G8: (The Group of 8) An annual informal meeting of world leaders to discuss global issues and concerns.
