This week in class, we continued to look at the economic cooperation of countries by looking at comparative advantage as well as globalization. After that we started examining the geography of conflict in an activity called, "Bomon."
Week #14 Vocabulary:
Globalization: countries joining together economically through society, politics, and education. It also indicates a move away from nationalism towards a world-wide unification of ideas and ideals.
Westernization: Some countries’ view that globalization is an effort turn everything “American.”
Fair Trade: exchanges in which the terms of the deal meet the demands of justice.
Free Trade: a general openness to exchange goods and information between and among nations with few-to-no barriers-to-trade.
IGOs: (Inter-Governmental Organizations) Organizations made up of the governments of other countries.
