Week #9: March 3rd - March 7th

This week in class was all about Water. We talked about everything from our drinking water and the Environmental Protection Agency to the Colorado River and cartograms. It was a very fun and informative week.

Week #9 Vocabulary:
Cartogram: a map in which some thematic mapping variable is substituted for land area or distance.
Water Consumption: the amount of water consumed by an area or population.
Water Conservation: the policies, strategies and activities to manage fresh water as a sustainable resource to protect the water environment and to meet current and future human demand.
Climate Change: a significant and lasting change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns over periods ranging from decades to millions of years.
Irrigation: the artificial application of water to the land or soil.
